Leaders from the institutions that make up the PDCIS Program sign the Term of Acceptance for the Odebrecht Foundation Governance Pact

18 de May de 2016

Leaders from the institutions that make up the PDCIS Program met on April 25 in the Bahia municipality of Ituberá to sign the Term of Acceptance for the Odebrecht Foundation Governance Pact. Through the pact, the institutions commit to follow procedures to strengthen governance in the projects developed within the sphere of PDCIS.

The document presents a set of rules to be followed by the parties involved and consists of a Partnership and Cooperation Agreement, which covers norms of behavior, with reciprocal obligations, an Action Plan for 2016 and the operational procedures for the so-called “win-win game,” through which common actions are detailed. “We have a strong program and a unique role,” said Graciela Mends Ribeiro Reis, Vice President of the foundation’s Organization & Governance. “Therefore, this act of signing is not a mere bureaucracy, but rather the certainty of discipline to do more and do it better,” said Reis, who on the occasion also read a message from Eduardo Odebrecht de Queiroz, Executive President of the institution.

For Quionei Araújo, Director of the Presidente Tancredo Neves Rural Family Home (CFR-PTN), the signing is an important step for the institutions to continue developing their work. “We are sealing what we had already been building over time, between mistakes and successes,” he said. Signed between the foundation and the institutions that are part of the PDCIS Program, the Term of Acceptance reinforces the commitment to social change, the offer of a context-based education, generation of jobs and income, citizenship and respect for the environment.

“Discipline generates respect that consolidates trust: this is the best phrase to illustrate this point. What we are doing here is nothing more than governance, through which everyone joins together based on the same ideal, with the pillars of equality, transparency, accountability and social responsibility” – Eduardo Odebrecht de Queiroz.
