Over the past three months, two institutions – which are part of the Odebrecht Foundation Governance Pact through the Program for Development and Growth Integrated with Sustainability (PDCIS) – disclosed their 2015 Performance Reports. During the year in which it is celebrating 15 years, the Land Conservation Organization (OCT) highlights in its report, disclosed in August, the milestone of 200,000 seedlings of native Atlantic Forest species planted and the first group of family farmers in Brazil to obtain the Rainforest Alliance Certified seal.

Its operations were also important for the municipality of Ibirapitanga, which became the first city in Bahia to approve a Payment for Environmental Service law. OCT is focused on reforestation actions, the insertion of Agroforest Systems and offering support for social and environmental certification. One of its main missions is to ensure that the environmental agenda and economic development of family farmers can walk hand-in-hand.

Right To Citizenship
Having operated for 12 years, the Rights and Citizenship Institute (IDC) works to promote a more fair and egalitarian society in the Bahia Southern Lowlands through the exercise of citizenship and by promoting access to public policies. Its report, released in July, highlights the partnerships with the Bahia Public Prosecutor’s Office and Office of the Controller General. It also reveals some impressive numbers. In 2015, nearly 6,000 people received assistance to issue civil identification free of charge. Thanks to a partnership with the Bahia State Court of Justice through the “Justice Counters,” the IDC assisted 905 people with Conflict Mediation in the municipalities of Camamu, Presidente Tancredo Neves and Valença.

For Graciela Reis, Vice President of Organization & Governance at the foundation, the reports are instruments for transparency and recognition, which strengthen the institutions and the partnership with the foundation. “They show relevant and consistent results that we achieved together, focused on transforming the lives of the youth and their families, prioritizing citizenship and environmental preservation,” emphasized Reis.
