From Bahia to São Paulo

Members and Visitors at Odebrecht São Paulo Building Experience a Piece of Bahia Southern Lowlands

22 de October de 2014

From October 6-10, the Members allocated to the Odebrecht São Paulo Building had the opportunity to experience a piece of the Bahia Southern Lowlands. During the event, the actions were designed to present the initiatives associated with the Bahia Southern Lowlands Environmental Protection Area Mosaic Program for Development and Growth Integrated with Sustainability (PDCIS), supported by the Odebrecht Foundation with the support of public and private partners.

The programming featured a special menu at the building’s restaurant, prepared with products from the cooperatives associated with PDCIS and the exhibit and sale of different items, bio jewelry, heart of palm and manioc flour, also associated with the program. At the space, it was also possible to learn about the programs Tribute to the Future and Pratigi Neutral Carbon – an initiative of the Land Conservation Organization that is part of PDCIS. Members also consulted Odebrecht Entrepreneurial Technology (TEO) books and donated publications to the libraries at the teaching units associated with PDCIS.

The event featured the exhibition and sale of items and bio jewelry produced by artists from the quilombola communities of the Bahia Southern Lowlands.

During the week, there were several products on sale, such as jars of heart of palm and manioc flour, produced with raw material grown in the region by family farmers belonging to cooperatives associated with PDCIS.

Heart of palm salad and tilapia moqueca were some of the options served at the Odebrecht São Paulo restaurant during the Bahia Southern Lowland Week. There was also the distribution of recipe books with dishes made using Southern Lowland products.
