The United Nations of Brazil (UN) declared 2014 as the International Year of Family Farming. The goal is to increase the visibility of the sector and small farmers, demonstrating the importance and contribution of agriculture to food security and food production.

In this context, the Odebrecht Foundation is one of instituting Development Programme and Integrated Growth with Sustainability Mosaic Areas of Southern Bahia (PDCIS), supported by public and private partners Environmental Protection. The challenge is to make the prosperous region socioeconomic and environmentally sustainable manner by fixing the youth field, in their places of origin, integrated with their families.
