On April 4-6, São Paulo hosted the 10th edition of the GIFE Congress (Group of Institutes, Foundations and Companies), with the promise of mobilizing social investors, leaders of civil society organizations, academics, consultants and government representatives on the topic “Brazil, democracy and sustainable development.”

Representing the Odebrecht Foundation, Cristiane Nascimento, who is responsible for the Program for Development and Growth Integrated with Sustainability (PDCIS), spoke during the “Youth” roundtable on the importance of private social investment and of the contextualized learning received by adolescents at the Family Homes, which are teaching institutions associated with UNESCO and supported by the Odebrecht Foundation in the Lowlands of Southern Bahia.

During her speech, Cristiane highlighted the importance of working with youth in rural areas and of offering them an education focused on agricultural entrepreneurship, noting the technical education offered by the Family Homes that helps students to develop both professionally and personally. “Thirty years ago, the Odebrecht Foundation chose youth as its target public. As such, the Family Homes reinforce our mission of educating for life, through work, with values and to surpass limits,” she said.
