In 2015, the Odebrecht Foundation celebrates 50 years of history. To mark the occasion, it is launching its commemorative stamp, which uses the symbol of the Infinite in order to reinforce the commitment and continuity of its actions.

Inspired by the seal that celebrates the 70 years of the Organization, which highlights values such as simplicity and focus on People, the special 50 years seal communicates the essence of the Foundation, committed to the future and sustainability, guided by the Odebrecht Entrepreneurial Technology (TEO).

Established in 1965 by Norberto Odebrecht, the Odebrecht Foundation has, from the moment of its inception, constantly exercised the spirit of service maintaining the family-unit as its guiding principle.

It underwent a period in which its sole focus was aimed at supporting the members of the Organization and their dependents, moving posteriorly to foment of awards and debates, and later to the promotion of adolescent education.

In 2003 it adjusted its focus to the Southern Bahia Lowlands, with the challenge of creating integrated and innovative solutions for the promotion education, employment and income generation, with the development of citizenship and respect for the environment.

In 2015, the Odebrecht Foundation reaffirms its core beliefs and its mission of contributing to the formation of new generations, educating for life, through work, for values and the overcoming of limits.

A New Moment

Since August 2014, the Board of Trustees of the Odebrecht Foundation started to be chaired by Emilio Alves Odebrecht. The Board, currently composed of 12 members, is responsible for, Based on TEO’s values and beliefs, setting priorities and guidelines to perpetuate the its founder’s legacy.

Eduardo Odebrecht de Queiroz, the Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Odebrecht Foundation was appointed by the Board to lead its administrative structure. “We have evolved with the awareness that the spirit of service is reflected in the commitment to generate continuously better and greater wealth contributing to sustainable development by virtue of supporting young people, embedded in their communities, and their families turning resources into impactful results. It is this responsibility that inspires and motivates us to grow in synergy with the Organization”, stated Queiroz.

The governing body of the Odebrecht Foundation has as its members Graciela Mendes Ribeiro Reis, Vice President of Organization & Governance, Delcy Machado Filho, Vice President of Sustainability Operations PDCIS – Development and Integrated Growth Program with Sustainability for the Southern Bahia Lowlands Environmental Protection Areas Mosaic and Joaquim Cardoso Filho, Special Advisor to the Vice-Chairman of the Board of Trustees.
