The main mission of the United Nations (UN) Center Report is to consolidate the results of a four-year partnership between the organization and the Odebrecht Foundation to implement the Development and Integrated Growth Program with Sustainability for the Southern Bahia Lowlands Environmental Protection Areas Mosaic (PDCIS).
The document presents a retrospective of the inaugural events held in 2008 upon the creation of the Study and Practice Center in Participative Government and Community Development, also identified as the UN Center. A total of 23 activities were promoted in 2012 alone, including workshops, seminars, meetings and gatherings. Last year, more than 30 national and international visits were also recorded.
Since it was first created, representatives from 34 countries have visited the center. “PDCIS is focused on changing human beings, and primarily, forming good citizens,” said Cândida Maria Narciso, Governor of the South Luanda Province in Angola. “This is the right path to take. And that one day, we may internalize these new ideas and generate knowledge,” said Narciso.
The report is available at the International Center for Innovation and Exchange in Public Administration (CIIIAP) – the result of a partnership between the Bahia Government and UNDESA (the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs) –, which strengthens and supports policies designed to improve public administration, promoting the exchange of innovation and improvement of technologies designed for the area.
